The busy traveler. If you only have  few days in Iquitos this is the trip for you. This is a day trip therefore it is much closer than our other programs. PEN Soles 295.00 per day.

Cost is PEN Soles 295 per person and it includes all transportation, lodge, meals, and gear.

The Allpahuayo Mishana reservation, famous for its biodiversity it’s open for our guests and it displays the flora and fauna typical of the unique “white-sand” jungle. A unique experience in the Amazon region.

8:00 Pick up from our guesthouse or your hostel, we begin our travel via car on our way to the reservation Allpahuayo Mishana (aproximately 40 minutes from Iquitos). Upon arrival at the lodge in the Investigation Center Allpahuayo Mishana, we register as guests with the ranger station and we begin by exploring the medicinal plant gardens, Amazonian fruit trees, and the butterfly sanctuary.

suri9:45 We take on our first hike into the virgin jungle to observe animals in their natural habitat: small monkeys (locally known as pichicos), army ants, different kinds of amphibians, curious insects, and reptiles.Varillales are tall and slender trees that accomodate to a soil poor in nutrient, they are specific to the white sand jungle of Allpahuayo Mishana, and also a sight to behold.During this hike we will also visit the lagoons formed by Aguaje Palms which suck water from the subsoil forming shallow and picturesque bodies of water.

Five hours of expedition, crossing different topographies, with the adequate equipment and with the company of our very experienced guides will be an unforgettable experience in your trip to IquitosAfter lunch at the lodge, we will visit the Manatee Investigation and Rescue center. This institution is dedicated to rescue manatees from irresponsible hunters. At the center they focus on giving them the proper nutrition, and reconditioning them to go back into their habitat.
The younger manatees and baby manatees are placed in a focalized areas specific for meeting their nourishment needs, and visitors are welcome to help feed them.So you can too bottle feed a manatee, that is unless, your heart melts first.
After saying goodbye to the manatees and the jungle, there is an oportunity to sign up to the rescue center newsletters, as well as to give them a donation (this is not mandatory by any means).
